Spruce Glen Falls, Spruce & Orchard Glen Preserve, Wallingford, Connecticut
A quick glance might have you thinking that “Twilight on Spruce Glen Falls” portrays some pristine waterfall nestled within the remote cloud forests of Central America… guess again! Would you believe that my latest print release comes to you from Spruce & Orchard Glen Preserve in Wallingford, Connecticut?
Although Wallingford couldn’t be called a “big city” in the same sentence as Hartford or New Haven, most people that live and work there have no idea that a natural place as exquisite as Spruce Glen Falls could possibly be tucked away in the forest less than a mile from the town’s busiest streets. In fact, the sound of traffic cruising along on nearby Route 15 is ever-present at Spruce Glen, though the surrounding river gorge means that highway travelers never realize the falls are there, despite passing by them everyday.
But while Spruce Glen Preserve may be little-known, its existence is no secret; the Wallingford Land Trust happily invites visitors to come take a look at this surprising gem.
